Google has rolled out an ad-supported news feed for Botswana sports.
It’s one of the latest attempts to boost the popularity of its Google News app in the region.
The Botswana Sports News feed, which is accessible on the mobile site, will be available to all Botswana users through a separate subscription.
The feed is a result of a partnership with Botswana Sport, a news and sports channel that is run by the country’s Ministry of Sports and Tourism.
Botswana was the first African country to join the Olympic Games in 2016.
Botswanians will also get access to a range of other sports news and events, such as the World Cup in June and the Rugby World Cup final in October.
Google announced the partnership last month, saying it was an attempt to boost Botswana news content in the US and other parts of the world.
