The Wire is about the Mafia, but the HBO show has made it into the spotlight of sport, too.
A new book by the show’s creator and executive producer has shed light on the world of organized crime and the mob, and on the influence of the show on sports.
It’s called “The Wire: A Life in Crime” and is published by Simon & Schuster.
The book covers a lifetime in the world’s biggest crime stories.
But it also chronicles one of the most surprising stories of the past 40 years, when “The Sopranos” was filmed in Baltimore and the show premiered on HBO in 2002.
A major theme of the book is how the “The Gang” of mobsters who controlled the Baltimore mob had a long-standing relationship with the late George “The Spider” Hill.
In the book, the book’s author, Tom Brokaw, writes that Hill was one of The Wire’s biggest fans.
“He was one, and that was one reason the show came to be,” Brokaws’ book reads.
“He loved ‘The Gang,’ and he loved being around the guys.
He was one who had a big, wide circle of friends, who were his friends.
And he was an extraordinarily successful guy.
That’s the kind of person who would bring you in, and he did.
And in the end, he was the guy who won the war.”
Hill’s relationship with Hill and The Wire was not only symbiotic, but it was also the reason for The Wire being filmed in the Baltimore city, and how it came to air there.
It was a time when Baltimore was experiencing a real housing crisis, and people were looking for a way to make money.
A lot of these guys were coming in to do jobs that were no longer available in the city of Baltimore, Brokays book said.
And they were doing them in the shadow of The Gang’s mob boss, Sonny Gambino.
And Gambino was in fact, one of Hill’s biggest fanatical fans, as the two shared a lot of the same interests.
“The Gang was a mob-run TV network,” Brokes book said, citing a quote from one of his co-creators.
“Gambino and The Gang were friends, and the two were close friends.
They were all in the same orbit.”
The Wire is set in the mid-1990s, in Baltimore, and it follows the lives of the gangsters who make up the The Gang.
The show is about to premiere on HBO, and Brokas book describes the show as the “world’s first show that captures the power of the mob in its truest form, a true-to-life story that captures an era.”
It is also one of only a handful of TV shows ever made with the same title, and one of just two shows in history that has never been picked up for a second season.
The Wire will air its final season on Sunday, Oct. 21.
