Liverpool’s next home game against Aston Villa will be at Anfield on Saturday, with the Reds having not played since a 3-1 defeat by Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday.
However, the Reds will not face any major challenges this weekend with the FA Trophy final against Manchester United the last game of the season, and the FA Europa League final against Sevilla the next, with that also taking place on Saturday evening.
This will be the last time Liverpool host a top-flight team at Anfield, with Jose Mourinho’s side being relegated to the Championship.
Liverpool’s next Premier League game will be on Friday night, when the Swans visit Anfield on the final day of the campaign.
Liverpool have not faced an English Premier League side since a 4-2 victory over Arsenal in December 2018.
The Reds have not won a Premier League match at Anfield since December, with Liverpool losing 2-1 to Arsenal at Anfield in the first game of a double-header on November 11.
In recent years, the FA has seen many games featuring a top five or top eight side, with three of the last five matches against top-six sides having been played at Anfield.
The next Premier league game is on Sunday, when Chelsea face Arsenal in London.
The club has been without a home game in the Premier league since November, when a 2-0 defeat by Manchester United at Wembley ended their season.
Since then, Liverpool have not played at all.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that the club is “very fortunate” to have such a strong squad at this stage of the year, and that the team has a “great base” at the club.
However the club are also “sick of seeing it happen to us”, Rodgers added.
The FA Cup final is set to take place on Sunday evening, and Liverpool have played their home games in the past against Everton, Stoke and Newcastle.
The final is due to take a place at Wembley Stadium, with tickets to the game going on sale on Thursday.
Liverpool will face Arsenal at home in the fourth round of the FA Super Cup, and a home fixture against Sunderland at Anfield is also set to be the next game in that group.
