The Commonwealth Games, the oldest sports event in the world, will be held in Melbourne in 2018.
It will be the first time since the London Olympics in 2020 that two sporting events in the same year are held at the same venue in the UK.
Australia will host the event, which is one of the world’s largest sporting events, on July 5-6.
The event, set for July 6-9, will feature 14 nations competing in 14 sports, including track and field, swimming, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, table hockey, hockey and rowing.
The Commonwealth also will hold the Commonwealth Games in the city of Manchester on August 2-3, 2018.
In 2020, Australia hosted the Commonwealth Rugby Championship.
Australia hosted the Rio Paralympics, which was held in Rio de Janeiro from August 6-12, 2018, but was replaced by the 2019 Commonwealth Games.
This year, the Commonwealth will host a new event, the Australian Open, which will take place at the Royal Melbourne Cricket Ground on August 18-19.
